If you don't yet know about Deborah Davis, you might be missing out on one of life's simple pleasures. This New York based, Jazz Vocalist has a warm, angelic yet sultry voice that has captivated and seduced audiences through out the world. Poet, lyricist, artist, actress, dancer, teacher and athlete, Deborah truly has remarkable gifts, but it is her singing that makes one really take notice. She is the kind of singer that could sing you through a storm, and make you think the sun is still shinning. Her natural stage presence, charisma and heart felt emotions draw you right into her show as she turns an ordinary ballad into an act of love. You will fall in love. Her chosen repertoire consist of a wide selection of familiar, and obscure jazz standards that outline her life's experiences, including ballads, blues, latin,! and her favorite whimsical swing tunes. Amongst the musicians, shes known for swinging hard, and setting hip tempos. Deborah has performed in international clubs, concert halls, and jazz festivals, all over the globe. Her distinct style of phrasing, extraordinary singing ability, stage presence, and professionalism has earned her invitations to perform with legendary jazz great's such as Clark Terry, Ray Brown, Lionel Hampton, Freddie Hubbard, Lou Donaldson, and Art Blakey. She has also lead her own jazz combo's with the young lions of jazz such as Benny Green, Cyrus Chestnut, James Williams, Christian McBride, Peter Washington, Greg Hutchinson, Ron Affif, Mark Cary, and to many more to name. John S. Wilson of the New York Times says, "Miss Davis has a strong voice that can be richly colored, particularly in the lower register. Stuart Troup of N.Y. Newsday wrote, "this self assured singer shows solid chops in all ranges, has a sparkling well articulated attack and a natural flowing charm." Maria Guell of Barcelona, Spain simply said, "Deborah Davis seduces her audiences. Deborah laughs a lot, and sings often for one reason. "It makes her feel good", and she always hopes that the feeling is contagious. She wanted the message in her first public release, "Only Part Of Me" to be, not to take life so serious. Just relax and enjoy it. Simply put, "row your boat gently down the stream". Featured are, Ron Affif (guitar), Ben Wolfe (bass), Greg Hutchinson (drums) on her own label, "Got My Own Records". How's that for going with the flow of life.
