About the Artist
Formed originally during the summer of 1998, A Bird of Passage has become one of the most engaging live acts in the Seattle area over the past few years. The group continues to impress audiences with their own brand of jazz/rock fusion, which they call "Groove Music." Featuring smooth three-part harmonies on top of powerful instramentals, critics compare their sound to everything from Steely Dan to Sublime.
The four-piece band released their second album, "Real As It Feels," in November of 2002 and continue performing in support of their sophomore effort. The band's first album, "Mood Change of Season," received national acclaim in 2001, as it was nominated for Album of the Year by Rolling Stone writer PJ Gach in New York City's Village Voice Paz and Jop poll.
The band helped kick off the West Coast promotion of XM Digital Radio at the Experience Music Project in December of 2001, performing live on the XM Radio's unsigned band station.
A Bird of Passage expects big things in the future as they continue to promote "Real As It Feels" and attract attention locally and nationally.
