About the Artist
Innovative, Instrumental, Superjazz indeed! Gunnison features Danny Silvestri (bass), Marlon Patton (drums), Mike Dixon (steel drum/Fender Rhodes), Chris Costigan (sax), and Kevin Hyde (trombone/keys). Having played the same scene for years, founding members Danny and Marlon finally came together to create the band in early October of 2000.

Members of Gunnison have performed and studied with favorites such as: Reggie Wooten, Adam Nitti, Alan Visutti, David Blackmon, Dr. Dan, Arvin Scott, Sonny Ortiz, Ricky Keller, Jeff Sipe, Jeff Coffin, Russ Rogers, and Steve Cunningham. A Gunnison performance possesses a blending of many musical qualities reminiscent of Weather Report's intrigue, Maceo Parker's grooves and Frank Zappa's unbridled creativity.

Past performances include: The Georgia Theatre, Tasty World, One Love Music Hall, Music Farm, Spirit of Sewanee Music Park, The Brandyhouse, Ziggy's Tavern, House of Blues (Myrtle Beach), JP's Bar, The Variety Playhouse, The Asheville School, DT's Down Under, Wake Forest University, University of Georgia, Rhythm and Brews, and Nuci's Space.
