About the Artist
Phil Mosberg plays guitar and composes for a variety of ensembles including The Phil Mosberg Quartet, The Underdog 3, The Anders Svanoe Quintet and The Phil Mosberg/Eric Roth Duo. Marta Tennae played drums for the category defying ensemble Bablicon on several releases for the New York label Misra. He is currently exploring solo compositions. The two musicians met while students at Chicago's DePaul University. Sharing a love of jazz, rock and freely improvised music, it was not long before the two friends began playing together.
Product Description
Guitarist Phil Mosberg and drummer Marta Tennae went into the recording studio one day in November, 2001 and the resulting recording is the product of a full day of spontaneous music making. Only the general durations of the improvisations were determined in advance: four short pieces and two extended works. The resultant recording explores the range of emotions from raging free jazz to moments of barely audible intensity.
