Name: DREW SALPERTO Residence: Los Angeles, CA Background: Born in New Haven, Connecticut, the Jazz Keyboardist started performing professionally with various Rock groups at age 13. Since that time he has performed while living in Washington D.C. (1964-1971), Denver, Colorado (1971-1976, 1985-1988), San Francisco, California (1976-1979), New York City (1980-1985),and Los Angeles, California. Using these cities as bases, his comprehensive style of playing (utilizing elements of Pop, Rock, R&B, Blues, Jazz, Latin, Brazilian, Funk, New Age, Classical, and World styles of music) and outgoing personality have exited audiences in over 45 major cities across the country. International performances include the cities of Montreal and Toronto, Canada, Mexico City, Mex., and a 29-city-tour throughout South America with Jazz Trumpeter Freddie Hubbard. Said to have "as many roots as a Giant Sequoia" and the masterful chops DownBeat Magazine dubbed "Prowress Par Excellence", his carrer has included performances in bands led by many world famous Jazz personalities including: Grover Washington Jr., Freddie Hubbard, Kim Stone. Chet Baker, Tom Harrell, Dave Liebman, Eddie Harris, Jean Carne, Lou Donaldson, Eddie Henderson, Charlie Rousse, Bud Shank, Bobby Shew, Robben Ford, and Eddie Gomez. Besides his own CDs, Drew has recorded with Chet Baker, Jean Carne, Grover Washington Jr., and Freddie Hubbard.
