IBIJ is a Christian alternative worship band passionate about glorifying God through our music. We began playing as part of the Youth Ministry at Tri-Valley Open Bible Church in Dresden, Ohio. John Henifin was brought from Oregon to be the Youth Pastor at the church in 1994, and wanted to have the element of praise and worship in the youth services. Josh Foster, Andrew Morrison and Ryan Cullins were all young people in the ministry with the desire and talent to be a part of the worship team. We began playing in the basement of our church and soon began leading worship in our youth services. We had no intentions at first to make an album, we simply wanted to lead young people in praise and worship. Soon we found ourselves playing in competitions, summer camp, and other church services in the area. After being asked numerous times by people in our services if any of our songs were recorded, only then did we explore the possibilities of making an album. People in our church congregation funded the project by sponsoring our songs, and before long we found ourselves in the recording studio. Most of our songs were birthed out of Sunday afternoon jam and worship sessions, behind closed doors with the volume turned up. We have been playing together for six years and have traveled to several different states including Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Oregon, and Monterey, Mexico. Our Name IBIJ stands for I Belielve In Jesus because He is the soul inspiration for our music and lives. Our desire is to lead others in worship, and introduce them to Jesus Christ through our Music.
