A return to the West Coast, but this time California not Oregon. The open spaces of the West is inspiring music. A theme emerges - Dub influences begin to fuse with more organic instruments - harmonica, 12 string acoustic guitar, hand drums. The music will be spontaneous, raw, abstract at times...a dusty expression inspired by the wide open spaces of the west - the Mojave Desert, the Diablo Range of central California, the Oregon high desert, the big sky, the blazing sun. As work progresses Graham begins to add ghostly moods via guitar synth, and Ghettotronics - stark and ambient. The Chapman Stick provides a percussive bottom end. The project comes together and I'll Follow Magenta Skies results. Rancho Diablo is born.

I'll Follow Magenta Skies is an interesting and beautiful fusion of American roots influences and dub, with a dreamy, ambient feel. An abstract desert-blues soundscape which evokes a strong sense of the wide-open spaces of the American West. Using acoustic guitars, trumpet, the Chapman Stick, studio effects, beer bottles, found objects, and a home-brewed guitar treatment called "Ghettotronics", Rancho Diablo have crafted a dusty soundtrack for a mythical Western Ghost Town.
I'll Follow Magenta Skies, Music, Rancho Diablo, Abstract desert-blues in a jazzy American primitive tradition with dub influences.
