<"b00004tcvi2999"> About the Artist
Anything but subtle, MARY'S EYES breaks onto the music scene with an innovative style of alternative.

The three young artists of MARY'S EYES came together in November 1999. The tie that binds this band together is their united belief that people can be both entertained and influenced by a positive message through great music. They share one common goal of singing about everyday life situations from a soul-searching perspective. "We want to be known as musicians who have personal relationships with a loving, caring God. We want to share our faith from every platform of our life." Coming from diverse backgrounds, you can sense a strong mixture of Southern rock, alternative, funk, and soul. "We've always loved blues and rock and MARY'S EYES is a healthy dose of both. Basically, we play some rocking, good-time groovin' music with funky, smooth beats and tasteful guitar solos... some songs are just sonic blasts of sound, while others are just acoustic riffs." The group is determined to take their music to the next level with a unique approach to song writing. They combin! e in your face lyrics with melody lines that linger like Mama's home cooking! "We want people to listen to the words, not just the music; asking themselves what it is that makes us write the stuff we write."

After hearing MARY'S EYES perform it is evident that the band is loving every minute of what they do and they're having fun doing it! They exemplify all the qualities of young men of character and integrity. Their zeal will passionately grip your heart.

In April 2000, MARY'S EYES released their debut self-titled demo. The album's first track, "Forgotten Bum," takes a direct stab at prejudice in today's social classes and self-absorbed world. Following with "Fallen Angels," this song helps to encourage when everything else is seemingly falling apart. The "Starry Eyed" message deals with poor self-esteem versus being seen through the EYES of love and acceptance. Last but certainly not least, "Peculiar," has a hard-hitting message of marching to the beat of different drum.

MARY'S EYES kicked off their 2000 Summer Tour performing at Young Christian's Weekend, Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri, with artists such as Rebecca St. James, Ginny Owens, Chris Rice and Earth Suit.

MARY'S EYES bring all of their strength, all of their passion, all of their message into all of their songs.
