<"b00030n49g2999"> About the Artist
The Mannish Boys are being hailed as one of the most exciting blues projects to come along in years, featuring some of the most dynamic blues talent in the world today, assembled from the absolute cream of the crop of West Coast blues veterans and young bloods. The Mannish Boys are an "All-Star" undertaking in the truest sense of the word - each member has been widely recognized in the blues field as a master of his craft, and an in-demand artist in his own right...in fact, entire blues festivals have been built around lineups with less star power than this single band.

Finis Tasby is the band’s soulful frontman; with blues roots going back to Texas in the 1940s, Tasby excels at both down-home material and funkier modern sounds. One of the last great stand-up blues singers, he continues to deliver fiery, dynamic performances, as he's proven on a series of his own highly acclaimed CDs.

The band's two incendiary guitar players are Kirk Fletcher and Frank "Paris Slim" Goldwasser. Fletcher has been acclaimed as one of the finest young black blues guitar players in the world today by virtually every major blues publication both in the US and abroad; he's currently with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, as his own second CD, "Shades of Blue", is being readied for release by Delta Groove. Goldwasser's extensive resume includes stints with legends Lowell Fulson, Homesick James, Jimmy Dawkins, and many others, in between touring the world and releasing a series of CDs with his own band. His latest CD, "BLUJU", released on Crosscut Records in Europe, is soon to be released on Delta Groove.

Piano ace Leon Blue has played with just about everyone there is to play with from the 1940s onward, including lengthy spells with The Ike and Tina Turner Revue and Albert Collins, plus stints with Lowell Fulson, Albert King, Bobby "Blue" Bland and others. He's also a fine singer, as he proves on "You Been Goofin" on The Mannish Boys CD.

The Mannish Boys' foundation is the rock-solid, hard-swinging rhythm section of drummer June Core and bassist Ronnie James Weber. Between them they've provided support behind many of the biggest names in the blues and roots music, including Little Charlie & The Night Cats, Charlie Musselwhite, and Kim Wilson & The Fabulous Thunderbirds to name just a few.
