In March of 1999, vocalist, guitarist and acoustic harmonica master, Tom Ball, and his partner, guitarist Kenny Sultan celebrated their 20th anniversary as a performing and recording duo with two special sold out appearances at Victoria Hall, in their hometown of Santa Barbara, California. The results of that evening can be found on their brand new album, "Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan - 20th Anniversary Live!" on No Guru Records.

The folk/blues veterans, often referred to as "America's Good Time Blues Ambassadors", have shared stages over the years with the biggest names in the folk, rock, blues, bluegrass and pop music world including Bob Dylan, the Beach Boys, Randy Newman, Bonnie Raitt, THe Allman Brothers, Paul Simon, Ray Charles, Van Morrison, Don Henley, Lyle Lovett, Alison Krauss, Doc and Merle Watson, The Meters, and literally hundreds of others at concerts and festivals around the globe. They were the only musical act in America to play all four venues of the 1994 Olympic Games and their 6 albums on Flying Fish, Rounder, Sonyatone and Kicking Mule Records received critical acclaim on a worldwide basis, with publications like LIVING BLUES MAGAZINE declaring them to be "Irrepressible....a unique style and a sly attitude", the English folk music bible, FOLK ROOTS MAGAZINE once described them as "CONSUMATE MUSICIANS", SING-OUT MAGAZINE says "As good as anyone in acoustic blues." GOLDMINE MAGAZINE described them as "Superb, Knowledgeable, and eclectic.", while OPTION MAGAZINE described them as "Exceptional...remarkable." When not on the road in some other part of the world, Tom and Kenny can be found playing several hundred club, concert and festival dates here in the US, while keeping busy in the academic world at the same time. Both artists are busy as teachers, teaching guitar and harmonica to students at all stages of learning, including the university level, and both have authored a number of books for the Hal Leonard/Centerstream Publishing Company, a leading publisher of music related works. Tom Ball has three titles with the organization and Kenny has three books and a trio of instructional videos. Their extensive knowlege of folk and blues history have made them a natural for the college campus workshop and seminar circuit and they have been frequent guests on National Public radio and The Voice of America radio shows. They are heard regularly on TV soundtracks, record sessions, feature films and commercials including a series of Levi's 501 Blues spots. Their music from the film "Over The Edge" won them the prestigious Telly Award in 1994.

Tom and Kenny are featured on the new recording whithout additional musicians and the set showcases the virtuoso guitar and harmonica work that have made the team one of the most respected acts in the folk/blues field for the past two decades.
