This release kicks off with three excellent tracks featuring Leadbelly performing alongside Bunk Johnson's Band, recorded in New York Town Hall, September 1947. The remaining tracks were recorded in June 1949 in Austin, Texas.

Extremely poignant, this was Leadbelly's last concert, and he knew it.
