At eighteen, Nick Moss played bass along side his brother, Joe, as a Ribtip in Buddy Scott’s band. At twenty, he was touring the country with Jimmy “Fast Fingers” Dawkins. At twenty one, Nick replaced Calvin “Fuzz” Jones (the longtime bassist for Muddy Waters) in the Legendary Blues Band. Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, the then leader of the band, soon moved Nick into the lead guitarist position, where he stayed for more than two years. While on tour in Europe for a Muddy Waters tribute, Willie recommended Nick to the legendary Jimmy Rogers who was heading back to the U.S. early for a tour of his own. Nick joined Jimmy’s band and held the coveted guitar spot for three years until the urge to set out on his own began. With the encouragement of Jimmy and many club owners, Nick started his band, Nick Moss & the Flip Tops, and continues his busy touring schedule today.
