<"b0000ei2mr2999"> About the Artist
Drink Small (his real name) is South Carolina's legendary "Blues Doctor". Born and raised in Bishopville (Lee County), SC in 1933, Drink has been mesmerizing Southern audiences for generations. He first recorded in 1956 (Vee Jay, with gospel group The Spiritualaires) before cutting his first blues platter in 1958 (Sharp Records). He has since recorded for Ichiban, Southland, Erwin Music, and his own Bishopville imprint. This year has been a big one for Drink Small with appearances at the Chicago Blues Festival, the King Biscuit Festival, the Carolina Downhome Blues Festival, and other notable events. There are very few artists left who play and sing the blues the way Drink Small does. This CD belongs in everyone's blues library.

South Carolina's legendary "Blues Doctor" (recordings since 1956) has created "the downhome blues album of the year". This is Drink Small solo in the studio; alone with the blues, his incomparable basso profundo voice, a National steel guitar, and an acoustic piano. He wails some great new original songs as well as downhome gems he learned growing up as a child in the swamps of Lee County. Remember those blues "field recordings" from the '50s & '60s? That's "Does It All"...raw, rugged, the real deal Deep South blues the way it's supposed to be. 16 tracks!
Drink Small, Music, Does It All, Downhome acoustic blues from South Carolina by legendary artist who has been recording since 1956.
