Editorial Reviews
<"b000000n7s5228"> From Grove Press Guide to Blues on CD
Trained in the advanced principles of raw-boned harp playing by giants Walter Horton and Little Walter, Bell is hardly a dilettante. He blows his chromatic instrument (and sings) with an outstanding balance of power and discipline on a program heavily tilted toward 1950s and 1960s Chicago blues. His Baltimore support band, Tough Luck, is too enamored of the style to be authoritative but manages to get by. See also James Cotton/Junior Wells/Carey Bell/Billy Branch -- © Frank John Hadley 1993
