Home Before Long
Editorial Reviews The production is more adventurous than last time, with a variety of sonic colors surrounding the folk instrumentation, and Shain and company are in fine form, giving their best performances yet recorded. The tunes range from love-lorn ballads to rollicking throwdowns, with some mystical folk-rock and historical perspectives thrown in for good measure. A diverse and highly entertaining set of songs.

"...his guitar-playing is impeccable...a bluesy groove that still leaves room for mysterious wide open spaces..."

Jon Shain's latest CD, Home Before Long, was produced by Dave Mattacks and Tom Dube (both are long-time musical associates of Richard Thompson). The album picks up where Shain's critically acclaimed CD, No Tag, No Tail Light left off - on a firm Americana footing, based in country blues finger-picking guitar and story songs filled with colorful characters.
