Papa John Kolstad is a long time Minneapolis folk / blues guitarist. He was foun der and leader of the down home jug band, The Sorry Muthas, in the early 1970s. He later returned to being a solo artist. Currently living and working in Minneapolis, he can still be heard in club s around town. Mike Turk is an extraordinary musician, accomplished on both the diatonic and chrom atic harmonica. "Beans Taste Fine", originally released on Philo/Fretless Records in 1975, now on CD by Wampus Cat Records. The original album is enhanced by the addition of three bonus tracks record ed live at the Passim Coffeeshop in Cambridge, MA. The music on this disc can best be described as fun jazz and happy blues providing a wonderful listening experience. Material covered comes from such diverse sources as Shel Silverstein, Leroy Carr, Fats Waller, and George Gershwin.
