Its not easy to be a soloist in front of an audience of thousands. Pianist Al Copley seemed to ignore that fact and gave a brilliant performance.

Jazz/Blues pianists able to present a concert all by themselves have become rare... COPLEY has the courage and ability to do so. His style is the faultlessness of style... if there is a Copley characteristic it is the virtuosity of orchestral piano... his easy command of the tempo, sensitive feeling and dynamic intensity capture his audience.

Solo piano concert before 3,000 on the "Blues Summit" night at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Red hot, first class original boogie woogie and blues played on a Steinway Model D full concert grand. VERY well recorded by the Montreux Jazz organization. A must for blues and boogie woogie piano lovers. By the way, this disc was played one evening on the radio in Paris, and it ran into the next program's time, which was a World Music show. The station was deluged by calls about asking "Who is that?"
