...[I]t is on the solo tracks that Davis' magic works best. He creates a dark mood, enveloping his voice with choppy, clanging guitar figures. Davis is a master at leaving spaces in the music. He works those spaces, between notes and between pitches, especially on the slow songs like "Worried Life."
