The music here is solidly in the ensemble style of classic Chicago blues and is refreshingly bereft of mindless soloing. The songs, too, are in that tradition ... with some good Myers originals, a couple of surprises from the Fats Domino songbook, and the ill- advised "Chattanooga Shoe Shine".... Myers is a warm and engaging vocalist ... his singing [though] is not dynamic enough to energize a band [but] fretwork is a joy.
