Although Curly Seckler is best known for his stellar work as a member of Flatt & Scruggs Foggy Mountain Boys during the 1950s, a closer look at his career reveals that he played a significant role in many of bluegrass musics most important first generation bands. In 1994, as Curly neared his 60th anniversary in the music business, he was asked to make a recording to commemorate the event. Curly began to call musicians he had worked with through the years, and they were eager to participate. With a cast of 32 pickers and singers, Curly lovingly recreates earlier triumphs from his lengthy career including songs he wrote and/or recorded with other artists. Guest artists include: Ralph Stanley, Mac Wiseman, Jimmy Martin, Jim & Jesse, Benny Martin, Doyle Lawson, Alan OBryant, and others. Originally released in 1995, this re-released version is "new and improved" it was remixed from the original session masters and includes several bonus tracks. Curly was inducted into the IBMA Hall of Honor this past October, joining the ranks of other luminaries such as Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, and the Stanley Brothers.
