Organist Tony Zamagni is out to make a name for himself in the blues world. Although he has been known primarily as a sideman, Zamagni unveils his heretofore unrecognized vocal talents to complement his reliable keyboard skills on this challenging album, actually de-emphasizing his bread and butter (there's not an instrumental on the disc). Zamagni's vocal delivery comes across as a bit affected at times but generally satisfies, dripping breathy lounge-lizard cool as he cuts a wide stylistic swath through the interconnected worlds of blues, jazz, and soul.
