If you aren't hungry when you drop this disk in the CD player, you certainly will be by the time you've finished listening to it...Over the course of the past year, Junkyard Jane has solidified its lineup into a five-piece unit of permanent members, which has undoubtedly contributed to the strength of this recording. The band's dynamic live performances, which incorporate a hefty percentage of original material, are as entertaining and uninhibited as anything you will ever see onstage. Despite the fact that the Junkters can't be easily categorized musically, the swelling ranks of their fans obviously don't mind and are happy to follow the band wherever the music takes them.

It's kinda humorous that some of the local blues purists get their panties in a twist because these folks have been getting nominations in the blues awards. After all, they don't do any regular 12-bar shuffles, and there are no (count'em 0) overblown guitar solos on the whole album...What you get is a bunch of great original tunes and some cool funky grooves, clean and interesting guitar riffs, mellow and soulful trombone solos, catchy percussion accents, and great cover art too.

Milkin' The Frog pulls influences from an adventuresome map...another worthy tribute to musical eclecticism, ranging from Little Feat comparisons to acoustic folk songwriting. From rockabilly to folk to funk to latin influences, this CD shows the versatility and originality of this band.
