Apparently, [label] Telarc has a case of the "all-star guest lineup" fever ... the credits show guest fretmen on virtually every cut, threatening to relegate Eddie Kirkland to sideman status on his own record. Although best known as a guitarist, Kirkland concentrates here on singing (with full-throated sureness) and harp playing (with more problematic results).... Although not a disaster, this disc is far from the great recording that Kirkland's admirers continue to believe he has in him.
