"Two things that set this band apart from their blues contemporaries are good original songs and Kay Kay's voice."
<"b00005udio4999"> Album Description
New release by Kay Kay and the Rays on the Deep South Soul label produced by Johnny Rawls. Johnny Rawls and Andrew "Jr Boy" Jones appear as guest artists. Kay Kay has already been called "a soul diva of the highest grade" and her voice described as "incredible" and "a righteous turn on". This is Soul music with a capital S rooted in blues with jazz and funk influences. Kay Kay is backed by a rhythm section described as "rock-solid" and a horn section led by Andy Roman, who has been called the "best alto player in Texas". All original music that attacks social injustice in the tradition of Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield. Her first album got great reviews but this one takes it to the next level.
