The best of the Hot Summer Jazz Festival & Global Harmonica Summit. A "Must CD" for any Harmonica player and Jazz lover.

On June 24th, 2000, a unique and exciting event in jazz took place. The annual Hot Summer Jazz Festival, which featured jazz greats Jack McDuff and Bernard Purdie, combined with the Global Harmonica Summit. This Summit brought together the worlds premiere harmonica players including Howard Levy, Jean "Toots" Theilemans, Brendan Power, and Mike Turk, to name a few. What resulted was Howard Levy performing on the same stage with Jack McDuff and Jon Weber (There will Never Be Another You & This Masquerade is over), Bernard Purdie performing with Rob Paparozzi (You Better Watch Yourself), and Mike Turk performing with John Penny and Jon Weber (Half Nelson). Brendan Power, the Harmonica player with Riverdance, performs with Red House Records recording artist Dean Magraw (Chromabender).

Minneapolis Legend saxophone player Eddie Berger performs with trumpeter Gene Adams (Lover Man).

17-year-old singer-songwriter Alicia, an up and coming artist who has already won a Berklee School of Music songwriting contest performs the classic blues hit Sweet Home Chicago.

Ronny Loew, one of the hottest, funkiest bands performs Hey. One listen and you will agree!

Ginger Commodore, a premiere vocalist who performed with the legendary More By Four performs with Bobby Commodore on this incredible gospel, soul version of Since I fell for you.

Chris Michalek, a major harmonica talent in the Twin Cities and also the producer and organizer of the Global Harmonica Summit performs the classic Gershwin tune Lady Be Good.

This event was recorded live by engineer Steve Wiese, Creation Audio and is of great sound quality.

A portion of the proceeds goes to the Minneapolis Food Shelf.
