Me & The Blues

Glenn Lane has a big, bold voice reminiscent of Little Milton's, plays a mean Hammond B-3 organ, and wrote the dozen songs that comprise Me and the Blues.... Lane harbors a hefty soul influence in his strong vocals, injecting the forceful "Stay Gone" and "Can't Leave These Railroad Tracks" with urgent passion. A taste of the church informs the uplifting, keyboard-drenched "You Never Gave Up." "Little Money, Big Trouble" swings handily.... Punchy horns mingle with tight grooves throughout this set, which makes a convincing case for Glenn Lane as a serious up-and-comer on the contemporary blues circuit.
