Live at San Quentin [Live]
Editorial Reviews
<"b000002o7f5228"> From Grove Press Guide to Blues on CD
In concert, beneath guard towers or not, King's string-bent prose is always thick with inventive wit, uncanny declarations of pain and pleasure, and gritty beaux gestes. The baritone voice packs a wallop; surprisingly so if you thought his studio albums in recent years evidenced declining power. 'Into the Night" and Peace to the World' 'cotton candy for the ears-drag down the concert just a little. -- © Frank John Hadley 1993 --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
