Six Silver Strings

King's fiftieth album, a 1985 release. Instead of an effort worthy of the occasion, MCA parades one of the most unctuous albums of his long recording career. Producer Dave Crawford, responsible for a couple more blots on his escutcheon in the mid 1970's, is back again, reducing the gilt-edged voice and sterling strings to plethoric product on a part with gewgaw synthesizers. Crawford also ignobly shares songwriting credits with veteran Luther Dixon (33:55/Reissue) -- © Frank John Hadley 1993 --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.
