Classic high-life R&B and Blues pour from this CD, BEYOND THE BLUES HORIZON recorded by Larry Fuzzy Knights BLOWIN SMOKE RHYTHM & BLUES BAND featuring The Fabulous SMOKETTES. The BLOWIN SMOKE R&B BAND are practically a West Coast institution known for their powerful live concert and club shows. Youll find 14 tracks that capture the band at its very best, live and in action!

Recorded at B.B. Kings Blues Club in Los Angeles, The BLOWIN SMOKE BAND led by bassist/vocalist Larry Fuzzy Knight, features five vocalists, each with their own uniquely expressive singing style. The featured vocalists are; Larry Fuzzy Knight, The COUNT Yates, and a trio of female singers known as the Fabulous SMOKETTES; Carolyn Basley, Terri Brinegar and Christina Vierra. They are accompanied by the 4-piece Burnin Rhythm Section comprised of lead guitar, bass, drum and piano/Hammond B3 Organ and a 4-piece horn section known as the Smokin Horns.

Every song is a showcase for this talented band. After a rousing Intro, the CD leads off with Knights hearty voice and rock-solid bass playing on C.O.D.. followed by BUILT FOR COMFORT, a mid-tempo powerhouse. The COUNT Yates follows with his velvet-smooth pipes and cool style on GET YOUR MONEY WHERE YOU SPEND YOUR TIME. Then .. here come the show stoppers, The Fabulous SMOKETTES, with the soulful singing of Carolyn Basley taking over on DONT FIGHT IT, followed by the raw and gutsy Christina Vierra belting out TURTLE BLUES and then Terri Brinegars smooth version of YOU CAN HAVE MY HUSBAND BUT PLEASE DONT MESS WITH MY MAN. After that, its back to Vierras demonstrative take on I PUT A SPELL ON YOU.

Knight takes center stage once again for TALK TO ME BABY, while IM BLUE proves to be the ideal vehicle for Carolyn Basleys expressive lead. This is followed by Ms. Brinegars sassy SHAKE YOUR HIPS and then a most amazing gospel-tinged version of THESE ARMS OF MINE by Carolyn Basley.

The band then follows with their own arrangement of SHAKEY GROUND which features some awesome horn - - solo and group work. The CD finishes up with the COUNT and FUZZY teaming up vocally with a rollicking version of BONY MARONIE.

This music is the real thing..Authentic Big Band R&B and Blues from a killer group of musicians and vocalists. The BLOWIN SMOKE RHYTHM & BLUES BAND has put out one of the most listenable and danceable CDs to be experienced in a very long time!
