King B.A.V. was born in Chicago, Illinois. He now makes his home in San Diego, California. He began writing songs at the age of 12.

King B.A.V. was the founding member, songwriter, and lead rapper for the group ?Positive Touch?. In 1992, King B.A.V. left ?Positive Touch? to focus on his solo career.

Since this time, King B.A.V. has continued to write and record songs. His self-titled release ?King B.A.V.? featured the songs, ?Gang War?, ?Tina Marie?, and ?White Dove.? His 1997 Album entitled, ?Demo? featured the songs, ?Let?s Get Busy My Way?, and ?Power and Glory.?

King B.A.V.?s 1999 EP ?I Rock?, received national attention when Gavin and Impact both included a favorable review of the CD in their trade magazines. The EP is still being played in over 65 clubs throughout the East Coast. It entered the Rickett?s Top 50 Urban Chart at number 47, and has moved up to number 35.

On his current release ?Violence Is Golden?, King B.A.V. mixes hard hitting reality checking vocals, slamming top forty hip/hop beats along with a laid back jazz flow to create a masterpiece that displays his versatility. As you can tell from the 15 songs on this CD, King B.A.V. is a great storyteller who pulls the listener into a song by turning auditory sounds into visual images. The listener is able to imagine that they are experiencing first hand, the situation that King B.A.V. is rapping about.

The track ?A Day In The Life?of The King? describes the rigorous schedule of touring and the excitement of chillin? with the King. ?I Got Juice? is a song that demands respect by stating, ?You better get back, ?cause you know I got juice.? ?I?ll Take Your Girl Too? outlines the importance of having respect for women. Its contagious hook, will have the listener repeatedly singing this song long after they have heard it. ?All?s Well In Hell? depicts a jailbreak and the seriousness of crime on our society.
