<"b00002r29u2999"> About the Artist
The band is dedicated to the use of Henderson and Mundy formula of call and recall, brass against reeds, two to four field in the bass, four man rhythm section, polyphonic music with interludes and modulations, and fluid creative solos. We are also in the process of creating our own arrangements that would be Neo-Henderson in style and will be featuring these new compositions at our shows. We regularly play in New York City and also produce our own dinner dances in the City, Westchester, Connecticut and New Jersey.

Felix Endico our Bandleader, and pianist has been organizing bands since his years at Lehigh University and has played with Erskine Hawkins, Wild Bill Davis, Jack McDuff, and Preacher Robbins. He has had the fortune of teaming up with Sol Yaged a Benny Goodman acolyte who is our musical director. The band also has had the privelage to work with Jonah Jones, the trumpet legend from the Henderson band. This 15 piece swing band playing in New York City and its environs for over five years plays in the "Harlem style" one which is looser and blusier allowing for a greater degree of spontanity and creative freedom. The group plays regularly at Wells in Harlem next to where Count Basie started out. The band is an amalagum of young swing turks and veteran luminaries such as Sol Yaged, Tootsie Bean, Eddie Bert , and Al Bryant. These men were on the bandstands with such greats as Benny Goodman, Fletcher Henderson, Earl Hines, and Erskine Hawkins. This is the real McCoy , full of feeling, played the old style without the commercial polishing.
