The Maynard Brothers Band based in Johnsonville, NY, is a blues-based, roadhouse-rock group. As their name indicates, the trio consists of the brother tandem of Erv and Jeff Maynard anchored by percussionist Harold “Clutch” Reiser “the brother-from-another-mother”. Erv pens most of the music and lyrics and handles all the guitars while brother Jeff “The Throat” Maynard belts out the vocals and plays bass. Their strengths lie in Jeff's dynamic vocal delivery of some witty, well-crafted lyrics. Erv’s melodies compliment the strong lyrics and while the music isn't rocket-science, it is loaded with catchy hooks and surprises. This trio has the innate ability to know each other’s next move and is apparent in their rock-solid rhythm work. Although their focus is on rock and blues material, the band has an affinity for a tender side that emerges in some really tasty ballads.

The Maynard Brothers Band’s debut effort on PacificSol features 14 original Blues, Rock and Ballad compositions that are smokin’. The CD kicks-off with a tasty “No Devils” and rolls into a hard driving “What To Do” followed by the liberating lyrics of “Don’t Call It Love”. “Baby Don’t Walk Away” is a brilliant Maynard ballad and “Call the Warden” is slow blues for the purist. “Redneck Express” rocks you and “You and I Can Fall in Love” is feel good 50’s. “She Sold My Monkey” leads into the dark “Down to the River” that leaves you shivering and “By and By” kicks it up followed by “I Want To Be Your Man”. “Do you Remember When” is another Maynard signature and “Hung Over Again” has a blues swing that you can’t stop humming. The CD wraps up with the acoustic back-porch bluesy cut “Better Things To Do” and you’re left wanting to hear more.
