Born Peter Chatman in Memphis, Tennessee in 1915, "Memphis Slim" was an important blues pianist and composer in the 40's and 50's. His Beale Street roots, along with a Chicago influence, gave Slim a unique boogie-woogie traditional style. In 1962 he moved to Paris where he recorded and toured through the 60's. 70's, and 80's. The release was recorded in Paris, France between the years 1970 and 1976. It features Lowell Fulsom on guitar, Carey Bell on bass, and Michel Denis and P.S. Leary on drums.
