"Whiteline..." sounds like a great lost Johnny Cash song, and the laid-back rockabilly groove makes for a spitfire start....

"Rootless Seed" lulls you into a familiar place and then stabs you gently in the heart when you get there....

We recorded at Chubby Smith's House of Sight and Sound located on the old Englegerger truck farm across the tracks in north Lawrence. Trains passed by every 15 minutes or so and we tried to record in between their passing. But listen closely and you may still hear the rumble of freight on the rails, that dark tonnage of steel and the wail of a whistle, you may even recall a ragged memory or a pang in your heart, perhaps a note of longing for something known, now gone. Keep listening and you may even sense it somewhere along the tracks like a "rootess seed" stumbling lost through the night in hope to make it home....
Rootless Seed
Rootless Seed, Music, The Border Band, This is "Rawhide Rock"--a raw mix of rock, country, folk and blues--fresh skinned, still dripping blood, it hasn't been processed to fit any certain form.
