Yoko Noge (piano, vocals) is the Blues woman from Osaka, migrated to Chicago in the 1980's. She paid her blues dues performing with many bands in Chicago's westside blues bars, and studied piano with boogie and blues master Erwin Helfer. Yoko is now a Monday night stable with her band the Jazz Me Blues at Chicago's famous HotHouse. The band features:

It can be said that "Yoko Meets John" is about the blossoming of a musical friendship, or it can be said to be about the discovery of the common spiritual ground in cultures from two far-flung continents and its expression through Chicago blues, swing, bop and straight-ahead free jazz. But perhaps it's mostly about serious musicians rediscovering and exploring the humor and creative tension in relationships as well as in some wonderful, rhapsodic and meaningful music.
