Editorial Reviews
<"b000000n7t5228"> From Grove Press Guide to Blues on CD
Trained in the advanced principles of raw-boned harp playing by giants Walter Horton and Little Walter, Bell is hardly a dilettante. He blows his chromatic instrument (and sings) with an outstanding balance of power and discipline on a program heavily tilted toward 1950s and 1960s Chicago blues. His Baltimore support band, Tough Luck, is too enamored of the style to be authoritative but manages to get by.
