Fred James is a renowned songwriter, Record Producer and guitarist. He has five Grammy nominations for songwriting on albums nominated for "Best Blues Album", three W.C. Handy nominations (two for producing "Best Comeback" CDs and one for "Best Blues Song")and has won a Nashville Music Award for producing the "Best Blues Album" (he has a Nashville Music Award nomination for "Best Producer" as well). Fred has produced about 100 albums for artists like Homesick James, The Sam Lay Blues Band, Frank Frost & The Jelly Roll Kings, Roscoe Shelton, Earl Gaines, Johnny Jones, Tommy Tutone, David Olney and The International Submarine band to name a few. He has recorded in the past for BMG/Possum, Appaloosa, Taxim, Ichiban and Indigo.

This album is a Blues/Jazz Hybrid, or Blazz as we call it. Fred is the guitar player for The Amazing Rhythm Aces and this release features members of that band as well as musicians who have worked with Eric Clapton, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Groove Holmes, Al Green, B.B. King, etc.
