Born in southern Arkansas, and also growing up in Texas and Louisiana Chris' roots are firmly planted in the traditional ideals of southern living. His songs reflect all of the passions of southern living but can be related to by any one who has experienced and endured-hard times-hard work-and hard living. Separted from his parents at the age of 6, moving from foster home to foster home, he quickly learned the meaning of hard times, and the true reality of being on your own,(A good song writer must have graduated from The School of Hard Knocks). At that early age, writing became his emotional release, and saving compainion, and that passion is conveyed stongly in the words of each of his songs. With the legends of Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, George Jones, and Conway Twitty being a defining influence not only in his writing but his life, Chris' songs are the definition of "The Traditional Country Sound". Forget the "Hollywood Country", "The Pretty Boy Package" when you listen to the songs on Drinkin' and Thinkin' you'll taste Country music in it's purest form-like the good ole boys meant for it to be.
