Originally released on Flying Fish Records in 1975, Lycurgus became a "Top National Add-on" and "Breakout" in Billboard Magazine and went on to garner a Grammy Nomination for 1975. Along with Lang’s guitar work the album also featured the estimable talents of a young Peter Ostrousko, Jazz piano wizard Butch Thompson, Dobro player Cal Hand among others.
