Joe Sublett, spent years as a part of the Austin blues scene, working with Paul Ray & The Cobras, Delbert McClinton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Joe also was a member of the original Antone's House Band, where he backed up blues greats including John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy and Otis Rush. Joe moved to L.A. in 1986. Darrell Leonard came to Los Angeles in 1969 and was soon recording and touring with Delaney & Bonnie and Friends and Dr. John. He worked on countless projects with T Bone Burnett. 1979 Darrell began writing the music and arrangements for what was to become his 16-piece rock & roll band, The Line-Up. Throughout the eighties Darrell worked with his big band and Billy Vera and the Beaters.

'Texacali Horns' is a horn driven blend of blues, jazz, and world flavors. Darrell Leonard and Joe Sublett are the W.C. Handy and Grammy Award winning Texacali Horns. As a horn section, Darrell and Joe have recorded with a virtual who's who of the blues and rock world. Stevie Ray Vaughan, Taj Mahal, B.B. King, The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, and scores of others have included the Texacali Horns sound in their recordings. Joe and Darrell stretch out on the first project under their own name, Texacali Horns.
