As a singer-songwriter, I feel the nine songs on "Welcome To The Flats" reflect some of my influences and a sampling of diverse musical styles. Here is my song by song description of some of the influences; 1. Ain't No Doubt About It- Marvin Gaye chord changes, New Orleans beat 2. Juke Joint Jump- Louis Prima inspired Jump-Swing 3. Worth The Wait- A ballad with more than four chords 4. The Sound Of The Rain- Stevie Wonder inspired arrangement 5. Brainwash- Dobro and guitar driven song about an ex 6. The Search To Find A Fool- Texas-Style Boogie Piano plus accordion 7. I Wonder- Instrumental Piano Ballad with kudos to Dave Grusin 8. Hold On To Your Dreams- Gospel-influenced happy song 9. She Doesn't Do Windows- Lyle Lovett humor with a Ray Charles feel
