Gaz Bar Blues is the heartfelt story of Mr. Brochu, known as ¨The Boss", who runs his gas station as best he can despite repeated thefts and hold-ups, competition from other self-serve stations, strained family relationships and the onset of Parkinson's disease. Through an examination of the minor tragedies of Mr. Brochu's life, we are given a glimpse into the life of an extraordinary man determined to make his small business work against all odds. Along with winning 3 awards at this year's Montreal Film Festival, Gaz Bar Blues has been widely acclaimed both critically and publicly at the Quebec and Toronto International Film Festivals. With seven original compositions and three songs from Louis Belanger's film by Little Walter, Chris Whitley and Bob Walsh's live interpretation of "Summertime", complete with an awe-inspiring solo by Guy, this soundtrack is a pure gem of atmospheric blues.
