The Coronados were formed in 1988 in San Francisco where they played the Rockabilly and honky-tonk classics to local crowds at venues such as the Hotel Utah, Paradise Lounge, Slim's, Bimbo's, and The Night Break on Haight. They have opened for Asleep at the Wheel at Slim's and Buck Owens at the Fillmore. In 1989, they were nominated for a SFWeekly Wammie. In 1992, they self-released their first CD Freedom of the Rolling Plains to friends and family and to garner some better gigs at corporate functions, wineries, and festivals. In 1995, The band's CD was a quarterfinalist in the Discmaker's Northern California "Battle of the Bands" and in 1996, The Coronados were finalists in the KSAN's "Country Music Battle of the Bands". In the Fall of 1998, Frank Fara of Comstock Records approached Bill about promoting the album in Europe with the result that The Coronados CD is being played on over 62 radio stations throughout Europe and reached #15 in March on the European Country Music Organization charts. The Coronados are now planning on a USA release to the country radio stations with the hopes of increasing their audience this year. The favorite tunes of the European DJ's include "Texas Taoboy", "Comfort Me", "Abilene", and "Singing the Blues". It's a party on a platter!!

Recorded live and "direct to digital" in the studio with no overdubs, The Coronados play with high energy so that it will feel like the band is in your living room when you put the CD in your stereo. There are three-part harmonies and twangy Fender guitars through Fender amps, as well as solid and swinging bass guitar and drum playing that lead the band. All the songs were "road-tested" in clubs and bars in San Francisco and the rest of the Bay Area so they guaranteed to please at party time! The Coronados motto is "No Gig too Big, no hall too small, no crowd too loud, no bar too far, and no pay no play."
