A geographically diverse team of musicians, through Web sites run to support the software product ACID -- including ACIDGUITAR.COM AND ACIDPLANET.COM -- had gotten to know each other and appreciate each other's work. Perf DeCastro, Francisco Mestre, bassist Paul Burgess, composer Joaquin Gonzalez, multi-instrumentalist Richard Young, Charles Rathmann. The group had talked about producing a CD together.

A few weeks earlier, Rathmann had met a couple of organizers for Heifer International, whose message of a sustainable solution for hunger and self sufficiency left a lasting impression on him. Rathmann approached the the online alliance with the idea of a benefit for Heifer -- and was delighted with the positive response he got from some of the finest players around!

The musical team was forged by E-mail and airmail of CD-Rs as fragments of tunes criss-crossed the globe. Other musicians were generous enough to contribute their efforts for the project, including blues guitar master Rockin' Jimmy Crimmins, best-selling guitar author Phil Toshio Sudo and New Jersey jazz maven Scott Lerner. With the help of dozens of others and many late nights with co-producer Eric Swanson, a disc of world, jazz and blues music was forged.
