Boogie Woogie Gospel II
Editorial Reviews When I was growing up, you would never play hymns this way," Maddox laughs. "You would be asked to leave, and people would pray for you once you were gone. Boogie-woogie was an exuberant style of music that folk of all colors loved in low-down saloons. But those same people would fill church pews the next day. For me, Boogie Woogie Gospel brings together Saturday night and Sunday morning. Its all about making a joyful noise."
