One of America's leading roadhouse combos covers a delicious batch of R&B Christmas songs, from Fats Domino's "I Told Santa Claus" to Jesse Belvin's "I Want You with Me Christmas" and Lowell Fulson's "I Want to Spend Christmas with You." Roomful of Blues give "White Christmas" a New Orleans sound and stay faithful to the rest of the tunes here, wielding their horns, guitars, and big beats in such standards as "Let It Snow" and "Run, Rudolph, Run." The only real surprise here is "Good Morning Blues"--and the fact that some of the covers sound a little too much like the originals.
