<"b00000048u5228"> From Grove Press Guide to Blues on CD
Dallas guitar stylist Kubek and his band marshal their forces to show that the confidently expansive mood of Stevie Ray Vaughan endures. Kubek and vocalist/guitarist B'nois King discipline their interplay, with the latter's singing warmer than a sip of middle-shelf scotch, and bassist Greg Wright and drummer Phil Campbell know how to push the beat in that special sagebrush fashion. Only together a year at the time of this session, in mid 1991, they display a pentatonic stylishness that bodes well for the future. -- © Frank John Hadley 1993 --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.
