As you know I loved the Rev's music, and you got so much of it onto the CD. Nobody can ever completely +be+ someone else, but there were moments with the guitar that had all of his adventurousness.

Boy, talk about your labor of love! On this delightful album Mr. Cohen has achieved a Herculean feat: he has mastered eighteen of the Reverend's songs.

This is in essence a tribute album. These are all sacred songs by Rev. Gary Davis. Although these are all gospel songs, Davis's guitar playing, which I imitate to the best of my ability, was a scintillating Piedmont style of blues- he was a holy bluesman, if you will.
