Nate Najar plays the full guitar. Many guitar players like using chords, others like to play single notes, a la horn players. Nate Najar prefers to play the entire instrument. The guitar can be looked at as an orchestra, much in the same way a piano is viewed; the tones range from low bass to high treble, and anywhere in between. Such an instrument can accompany, lead or be its own section of the orchestra, all at the same time. Coming from a background rooted in the blues, yet thoroughly enticed by the moving sounds of modern harmony, Nate Najar swings in a fashion not generally found in musicians of this day. Nate can equally pay homage to Eddie Lang, Django Reinhardt or Barney Kessel all the while still sounding like Nate Najar. His choice of repertoire consists of good swinging standards, "up" tunes, gentle ballads and easy flowing latin, all performed in a swinging fashion.
