One O'Clock Jump
Editorial Reviews

William "Count" Basie's first big band sides, in 1937, are fraught with exemplary Kansas City blues spirit, always more jubilation than sadness. Of seventeen selections, "Boogie Woogie" and "One O'Clock Jump" are the swinging riff-blues masterpieces, with trumpeter Buck Clayton soloing on both. The original analog recordings have some rough sections. -- © Frank John Hadley 1993 --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.
